Squarepusher Presents Shobaleader One: d’Emonstrator

The next release from Squarepusher is due out on October 19. This time out Tom Jenkinson aka Squarepusher is identifying the project as Shobaleader One. The nine track disc d’Emonstrator is his first such effort in over two years. Once again Tom Jenkinson will be working with Warp Records on the new release. An initial single, “Cryptic Motion” will come out on September 6, along with a Mr Oizo Remix of the song.

Oooh not bad at all. It’s got a sort of Autechre feel too it, without being too annyoing and technical sounding almost like it’s been crossed with someone a bit more tuneful like Stendeck or Solar Fields. I’m not entirely convinced by that vocal line thing that runs throughout, but it certainly doesn’t ruin it for me. Might have to check out that album!
