First National Tour Dates for Black Prairie

Earlier this year Black Prairie released its debut disc, Feast of the Hunters’ Moon. The group which is comprised of three members of the Decemberists (Chris Funk, Nate Query and Jenny Conlee) along with Annalisa Tornfelt and Jon Neufeld will leave its Oregon home base for its first string of national dates in October. The first of these shows will take place in Minneapolis at 400 Bar on October 20 and the tour will wrap up in New York City’s Mercury Lounge on October 29. Before then the quintet will appear in Los Angeles on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic on Tuesday September 14.

Strange Thunder: The Evolution of Howlin Rain
Acclaimed photographer Pamela Littky directed this short film, which shares the story of Howlin Rain. Rick Rubin produced the group’s next album, The Russian Wilds, which is set for a February 12 release.
