Steve Kimock Debuts New Crazy Engine at the Vibes

The Gathering of the Vibes is now underway in Bridgeport, CT. Earlier in the day, Jackie Greene invited drummer John Molo onto the stage to guest with his band during “Scarlet Begonias.” Next up was Steve Kimock Crazy Engine and after an extended introduction/welcome by Wavy Gravy a special version of Kimock’s band appeared. The guitarist was joined by his son John Morgan Kimock on drums, longtime collaborator Bobby Vega on bass and keyboard legend Bernie Worrell on keys. Towards the close of the group’s set, MC Chris Burger (Alphabet Soup, Band of Brotherz) joined in as well for some freestyling, which including band introductions. The Gathering continues, with Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings now on stage.
