Adam Deitch Joins Pretty Lights

Derek Vincent Smith will debut Pretty Lights’ new drummer Adam Deitch for his sold-out Red Rocks show.
Electro party rock duo Pretty Lights has made a change to its lineup, which usually consists of producer Derek Vincent Smith and drummer Cory Eberhard. Replacing Eberhard on the drums with less than two weeks till its sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheatre show in Denver, Colorado will be drummer Adam Deitch.
This past June, Deitch spoke to Relix contributor Jarrod Dicker about his various projects and favorite new music during which he tipped his hat to Pretty Lights. “He’s definitely allowing more hip-hop inspired stuff to become more main stream,” he said of Vincent Smith. “It was a dream of mine ten years ago—when nothing like this was happening—and I’ve been fighting to get it happening, but he has this certain touch that’s really accessible. Plus the girls love it. I just wanted to put that out there, big shout out to Pretty Lights!”
A Berklee College of Music graduate, Deitch is known for his involvement in bands such as Fatbag, Lettuce and the Wallyís House Band. He is also a former member of the Average White Band, with whom he toured for two years, and has played and recorded with Miles Davis alumnus John Scofield. Most recently, Deitch has been focused on his hip-hop, producing tracks for artists such as Soulive, Jurassic 5, Black Rob and Cam’ron.
The reason for Eberhard’s departure remains unclear.
