Red Sox All-Star Kevin Youkilis Enlists Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Allman Brothers Band for Charity CD

Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis has compiled a number of tracks for the new benefit album Music Hits Home. All proceeds from the album will benefit Youkilis’ charity Hits for Kids and the Boston based non-profit, Christopher’s Haven. The album mixes tracks by New England bands with unreleased live versions by a number of national acts. Highlights include a previously unreleased take on Dave Matthews Band’s “Why I Am,” Phish’s version of Boston’s “Foreplay/Long Time” and a live version of Allman Brother’s “Black Hearted Woman” recorded at Mansfield, MA’s Great Woods. The album is now available through Rounder Records.
