Grateful Dead Members Play for Senator Boxer

Grateful Dead bandmates and Furthur collaborators Bob Weir and Phil Lesh performed at a reception to support the re-election of U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer yesterday. The event took place in San Rafael, CA and featured a mix of familiar songs: “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” “Peggy-O,” “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall,” “Bird Song” and “Ripple.” Weir sang lead on “Masterpiece,” “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” and “Ripple,” while Lesh led “Peggy-O” and “Bird Song.” Furthur will perform at New York’s Nokia on July 28 and 29.
