Vampire Weekend Sued by Contra Cover Model

Vampire Weekend has been sued by former model Ann Kirsten Kennis who appears on the cover of the group’s Contra album. Kennis claims that the image was taken by a family friend and not in a professional capacity. However, photographer Tod Brody counters he shot it back in 1983 and retains the rights to the image. Kennis, who reportedly was notified by her daughter earlier this year about the Contra cover, is asking for two millions dollars in damages from the band (which would buy quite a few horchatas).

So much gratitude to send your way for feartuing Enation on your blog, and giving them an opportunity of a lifetime with the Billboard exposure. I have felt for some time that they deserve a wider fan base their music should be heard! It is a rarity these days to find a band that puts their heart and soul into creating their music-and they appreciate their fans. Thanks again!
