New Late Night Shows Added to Jazz Fest

The complete lineup for the 2010 Superfly During Jazzfest concert series is now confirmed. As previously confirmed, the series will take place April 23-25 and April 30-May 2 at rooms throughout New Orleans. Of particular note are two shows at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre, a venue which re-opened in January 2009 after being close since Hurricane Katrina. Gov’t Mule and 7 Walkers featuring Bill Kreutzmann & Papa Mali will play the venue on April 30, and Rodrigo y Gabriela will headline the room on May 1.

In other news, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and My Morning Jacket will play a 100-person benefit show together at New Orleans’ legendary Preservation Hall. The gig will take place at 11:55 PM on April 24. MMJ’s Jim James appears on the new Preservation Hall Jazz Band release and will join the band onstage the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. My Morning Jacket and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band will tour together this spring.
