High Sierra Adds Widespread Panic, The Black Crowes, Lotus, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
The roster of performers continues to expand for the 20th installment of the High Sierra Music Festival. Widespread Panic, The Black Crowes, Lotus, Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons, The Radiators, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and Orgone are among the artists announced via a second iPhone parody video (There’s an Act for that!). These groups join such musicians as: The Avett Brothers, Bela Fleck, Zakir Hussain, and Edgar Meyer, Ozomatli, Femi Kuti and Positive Force and Railroad Earth were announced. Other performers set to appear include: The New Mastersounds, Dr. Dog, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Cornmeal, The Slip, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Blitzen Trapper, Nels Cline Singers, Surprise Me Mr. Davis, BLVD, Great American Taxi, Johnny Vidacovich, Robert Walter Duo, Big Light, Trampled By Turtles and Zach Deputy. Tickets are now on sale for this year’s High Sierra Fest which will take place from July 1-4 at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy, CA.

Strange Thunder: The Evolution of Howlin Rain
Acclaimed photographer Pamela Littky directed this short film, which shares the story of Howlin Rain. Rick Rubin produced the group’s next album, The Russian Wilds, which is set for a February 12 release.
