My Morning Jacket Returns

After nearly a year off the road, My Morning Jacket will return to the live setting in April. The band has confirmed 9 dates, beginning on April 20 at Birmingham’s Alabama Theater. The group will focus on the South, although the final confirmed gig is set for Columbus, OH’s LC Outdoor Pavilion on May 2 (fingers crossed on the weather). Opening the tour (with the exception of MMJ’s Jazz Fest appearance on April 24) will be the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Jim James first crossed paths with the New Orleans-based institution when its members enlisted him to sing to songs on their forthcoming release, PRESERVATION: An Album To Benefit Preservation Hall & The Preservation Hall Music Outreach Program.
