Jay-Z, Pavement, Them Crooked Vulures, Thom Yorke, Sly and the Family Stone Set for Coachella

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has announced its 2010 line-up. The event will return to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA (site of Phish’s Festival 8 and the locale where Coachella debuted in 1999). More than 130 artists will perform at this year’s Coachella, which will take place from April 16-18. Headliners include Jay-Z, LCD Soundsystem, Them Crooked Vultures, Vampire Weekend, Muse, MGMT, Gorillaz, Faith No More and Tiësto. Three of the more intiguing acts will take place on Sunday as the engimatic Sly Stone will appear with Sly and the Family Stone while Thom Yorke is set to perform with a new band. In addition, Pavement will deliver its first U.S. reunion show at Coachella (and for more on the group’s return, pick up the latest issue of Relix).

Acclaimed photographer Pamela Littky directed this short film, which shares the story of Howlin Rain. Rick Rubin produced the group’s next album, The Russian Wilds, which is set for a February 12 release.
