Matisyahu wrapped up an eight show, two-venue run of New York Chanukah shows Sunday night. The multi-night residency kicked off the night before Chanukah at Manhattan’s Webster Hall and moved to Brooklyn’s more intimate Music Hall of Williamsburg this past Wednesday. Each night the reggae singer welcomed a different opening act, including: The Glitch Mob, Dub Trio, John Brown’s Body, Brothers Past, RANA, Kid Koala, Travis McCoy and Kevin Devine. The members of the Dub Trio are part of Matis’ backing band, while members of the Glitch Mob appear on his most recent album, Light. This past Thursday noted jazz keyboardist Jason Lindner also emerged for “Ancient Lullaby” at the Music Hall.
Matisyahu will perform at Philadelphia’s Theatre of the Living arts this Thursday. Since the show will take place on Christmas Eve, Chinese food will be served. Please click here for a recent interview with the singer.
