Premiere: Robby Hecht “New York City”
Robby Hecht will release a new self-titled album on March 25th. The Nashville-based folk artist has enlisted Lex Price (Mindy Smith, k.d. Lang), to produce the record, which is said to represent "a return to the early 70s golden era of acoustic pop where thoughtful, well-crafted lyrics were blended with timeless melodies."
Today we premiere, "New York City" from the forthcoming recording. Hecht explains of the song, "New York to me is a city of contrasts: fear and exultation, community and isolation, bright lights against a starless sky. I have many friends who have moved to New York City at some point in their lives, some who stayed and some who decided to continue on. This song is inspired by their shared experience. While the twelve songs I chose for this album are very different musically and thematically, I think they are bound together by a similar dedication to singular but universal facets of our lives."
