Members of Allman Brothers Family Join String Cheese Incident at Peach Fest
Throughout the set, String Cheese welcomed founding ABBdrummers Butch Trucks and Jaimoe, along with onetime members in bassist Oteil Burbridge, percussionist Marc Quiñones and guitarist Jack Pearson. All of the musicians are also members of Les Brers, the Allman Brothers offshoot that played the festival earlier in the day. Their bandmates, keyboardist Bruce Katz and vocalist Lamar Williams Jr. (son of former ABB bassist Lamar Williams), also joined in on the set, along with Gregg Allman Band guitarist Scott Sharrard, who played the entire Incident.
The set featured many of the Allman Brothers classic originals and staple covers, kicking off with “Statesboro Blues” and “Midnight Rider.” Other tunes featured in the set included “Melissa,” “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More,” a video of which can be viewed above thanks, Bob Dylan’s “Quinn The Eskimo” and the set closing run of “Jessica” with a “Drums” interlude.
The String Cheese Incident kick off their two-night stand at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre tonight.
