The New Psychedelic

Welcome! You’ve found The New Psychedelic Bonus Content.
For your perusal we have:
An extended interview with The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne
A brief conversation with Boredoms’ leader Yamantaka Eye
Hanging with East Village Radio’s Jeff Conklin
Over two hours of music on our New Psych Playlist

And most exciting…
THE PSYCH RECORD SURVEY with…
Ethan Miller, Comets on Fire/Howlin Rain
Kid Millions, Oneida
Ripley Johnson, Wooden Shjips/Moon Duo
Charlie Saufley, Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound
Aquarius Records
Jeff Conklin, East Village Radio
David Katznelson, Birdman Records
Jesse Jarnow, Relix/WFMU
Sebastian Kevan, Heavy Hills
Evan Caminiti, Barn Owl

Over the course of preparing The New Psychedelic cover story, we surveyed many of our favorite musicians, record label and store owners, DJs, etc., for their favorite psychedelic music. For the sake of perspective, they are divided into two very generalized waves of psychedelic music, before and after the birth of punk in the late ‘70s. Most of the titles are available via Aquarius Records, arguably the headiest record store in the world.
