KVHW members Steve Kimock, Bobby Vega and Ray White will reunite for a series of performances with Stephen Perkins’ Banyan later this month. From December 21-23, the all-star version of Perkins’ rotating group will perform at Denver’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom. In addition, this incarnation of Banyan will feature trumpeter Willie Waldman. KVHW grew out of the seminal Bay Area-band Zero in 1998, featuring Kimock, Vegas, White and Alan Hertz. Though Perkins found fame in Jane’s Addiction, in recent years the drummer has explored his latent jam-rock roots. Since hooking up at a Jammys pre-party last April, Perkins and Kimock have collaborated in a number of settings, including the Rhythm Devils and an all-star group at the 10,000 Lakes festival.
