Allman Brothers Band: "Rain" and "1983…(A Merman I Should Turn To Be)" > "Mountain Jam"
On Friday night at the Beacon Theatre, the Allman Brothers Band debuted two new covers. Their second set opened with The Beatles, “Rain,” the Lennon-McCartney tune first released as a B-Side to “Paperback Writer” which later appeared on Hey Jude. The set later closed in epic style with a run from the Jimi Hendrix composition “1983… (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)” (from Electric Ladyland) into “Mountain Jam” back into “1983” and then a reprise of “Mountain Jam.”
“1983… (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)” > “Mountain Jam” > “1983” > “Mountain Jam (Reprise)”
