What a fresh, insightful vagtane point this books offers! Jesus was not Hell, Fire and Brimstone and his message to followers was and is one of peace, happiness and genuine human compassion. How can a little humor not add to the message Jesus brought us? Also, Jesus opposed bigotry, preached against being driven by greed, and taught us to care for our fellow man, even the ones from south of the border, and those that believe differently than we do. He taught us (or tried) to turn the other cheek, and not be vengeful, to care for the sick, feed the hungry, and provide clothing and shelter for those in need. I often wonder how God feels about the Superior Morality of the fanatical religious rightwingers that USE God to try and buy votes I don’t recall that being one of his teachings. We have become such a callous, uncaring and intolerant nation I can’t imagine that God thinks we are on the right path to Heaven yet we have politicians mention wars we engage in, and their reason for running for political office as being due to a calling from God.
