65th Bithday Salutations to George Porter Jr. (And a Gallery)

The great George Porter Jr. turns 65 today. He will celebrate the occasion tonight at Howlin’ Wolf in his native New Orleans with three sets of music: A trio performance with Nicholas Payton and Johnny Vidacovich, a Grateful Dead Tribute featuring Papa Mali, Billy Iuso and Eddie Christmas and finally George Porter Jr. and Runnin’ Pardners with special guests.
