Cyro Baptista’s Trey Anastasio Tour Diary (Part One: Prep)

Cyro Baptista will return to the road with Trey Anastasio starting Thursday night at The Fillmore in Detroit. Over the course of the tour he’ll be sharing a tour diary with photos. Here’s the first installment…

I’m so thrilled to be back together with Trey and the band. Everything came together to be perfect with the timing of it! I returned from a month long tour of Brazil with three of my projects (Banquet of the Spirits, Beat The Donkey and Vira Locos). A few days later I was rehearsing with TAB at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair. It was a whirlwind!!

We spent 3 long days rehearsing and going over everything. I’m itching to get this music out on the road!! The new songs are amazing – very complex and intricate. And it’s so much fun to get back to playing those old ones again!

I can’t wait to share pictures and thoughts with you all along the way! This is going to be a very special tour!

Love,

Cyro

These 2 pictures here show where I’ve been for the past week or so – in my studio), practicing music for the tour! I fly out to meet the band this morning!! Here we go… Photos by Justin Bias

Very excited to see you play with TAB. Last time I saw you with Trey we were all dancing in the streets outside Radio City Music Hall… :) Peace to you!

Hey Cyro, great to see you back in the fold in Chicago! I noticed in your studio pictures that your speakers are sitting on bricks….you should consider decoupling the speakers from the brick using foam or padding (Auralex makes great products). Isolating your speakers from the surrounding structure will vastly improve bass response as well as increase “focus” and “punch”! cheers… -Kirk

[removed by admin]Citation: Creative Tactic of Staging a Flashdance Trey McIntyre Project, Drake CooperTrey McIntyre Project, Boise Launch Campaign I find this very interesting, cendisoring that I conceptualized FLASHDANCE for The Trey McIntyre Project through a BSU Public Relations class in spring 2008. Not only did I come up with the flash-dance concept (based on recent popular flash mobs), but a group of five other students helped to create a PR campaign for TMP based on the FLASHDANCE idea. E-mail me if you’d like a copy of this campaign plan.[removed by admin][removed by admin]Leigh Ann Dufurrena
