Jim Weider and Garth Hudson Reunite at the Iridium

The Band’s founding organ player Garth Hudson reunited with guitarist Jim Weilder—who replaced Robbie Robertson in the reformed version of The Band during the ’80s—over the weekend at New York’s Iridium Jazz Club. Weilder, who was in town to perform a pair of shows with his group PROJECT PERCoLAToR, welcomed Hudson to the stage as a special guest midway through the performance. Hudson and the entirely instrumental jam-funk group then ran through a few classics by The Band, including “The Weight” and “Rag Mama Rag,” as well as a few of Weilder’s originals. Check out photos from the performance below courtesy of Sarah Snow.

Having enjoyed Garth & Jimmy for decades, I am so overjoyed to see them performing together, again.
Garth is a International Treasure & Jimmy is truly the Master of the Telecaster.
Together they show today’s wannabes, how it is truly done,
Take Note, younger musicians, these two masters of their craft, never stop learning, LISTENING & forging new paths.
Music – the way it oughta be,, Long May They ROCK !! Butch Dener ( The Band’s Road Mgr 1990 -200? -ret. )
