Jazz Fest 2012: Words and Images

More from Marc Millman at Jazz Fest 2012

Black Seminole Mardi Gras Indians – Jazz & Heritage Stage

Warren Haynes band feat. Dr. John – Blues Tent

Esperanza Spalding: Radio Music Factory – Congo Square

Keith Frank & The Soileau Zydeco Band – Fais Do-Do Stage Just one more great local act I wouldn’t even know about if it weren’t for this incredible festival

Rockin’ Dopsie Jr & The Zydeco Twisters – Fais Do-Do Stage If you’ve never seen thsi band, then you are missing out on one of the greatest live party acts out there. Fronted by the son of the original Rockin’ Dopsie, this band has the distinction in the Zydeco world of being led by a washboard player and not an accordionist. From traditional Zydeco songs to Funk and even Rock from the Rolling Stones, Dopsie throws a party worthy of ending the Festival

Sharon Jones – Blues Tent Sharon was the final act in this tent. Backed as usual by the Dap-Kings, she played her version of a classic late 60s/early 70s Soul revue

Anders Osborne – Gentilly Stage
