To Kick off Daze Between, Tipitina’s hosted a full day and night of music out on the street and in the club to support the Tipitina’s Foundation.

Some of the highlights were from the evening when Big Sam’s Funky Nation invited local legend Jean Knight to the stage to sing her hit “Mr. Big Stuff” with Mykia Jovan form Kermit Ruffins BBQ Swingers on backing vocals.

Then BIGI composed of George Porter, Ivan Neville, Russell Batiste & Ian Neville Jammed out three hardcore funk jams in a row in approximately 30 minutes that included a finale of “Love Slips Up On Ya” featuring Billy Iuso of The Restless Natives.

After that, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue gave an abbreviated version of their over-the-top block party.
