Tonight’s Love for Levon benefit has quite a stacked lineup. The event which will celebrate the life of The Band’s Levon Helm will take place at East Rutherford, NJ’s Izod Center with proceeds set to help save Helm’s barn and recording studio. The roster of performers includes: Roger Waters, Gregg Allman, My Morning Jacket, Bruce Hornsby, Mike Gordon, Warren Haynes, Grace Potter, Band co-founder Garth Hudson, Joe Walsh, John Mayer, Ray LaMontagne, Mavis Staples, Joe Walsh, Lucina Williams, Jorma Kaukonen, Robert Randolph, John Hiatt, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and the Levon Helm Band. Don Was and Larry Campbell will serve as the evening’s musical directors. “Legendary surprise guests” are promised as well.
So what exactly will go down? It’s shaping up to be quite the collaborative evening, Jammy Awards-style.
