Watch: Umphrey’s McGee Cover Radiohead in Miami

August 25, 2015

In the same city where Radiohead kicked off their King of Limbs tour in 2012, Umphrey’s McGee paid homage to the legendary Brit rockers the other night with a performance of “National Anthem” at The Fillmore in Miami Beach. The tune was in heavy rotation during 2011, but has only been played once a year since 2012. The band also incorporated the Radiohead tune into their mashups in Boston last year, combining it with Beck’s “Loser” and Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight.”

TourGigs has released a pro-shot version from the show, which was webcast as a part of a four-show run. The particularly spacey, psychedelic rendition of the song fittingly originated out of a second-set opening take on “Miami Virtue,” just steps away from where Miami Vice was based.
