Yesterday, Ryan Adams sneakily announced a new 7″ entitled “Do You Laugh When You Lie?” and wasted little time debuting the title track from the release last night in Toronto. Nobody say anything, but it absolutely sounds like an old Whiskeytown song and that is a wonderful thing. Adams’ tour continues Saturday when he plays his first solo acoustic show of the year at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Previous 7″ in the PAX-AM archives include the more recent Halloween-themed release “Vampires” as well as “Jacksonville” and his all-punk rock EP “1984,” put out following the release of his self-titled album.

“Do You Laugh When You Lie?” will be accompanied by two additional new songs, “By The Way” and “I’m in Love With You.” The 7″ is available here. Watch the performance below.
