Watch: Jeff Probst Pranked Dave Grohl and it Backfired Wonderfully
Survivor host Jeff Probst visited The Tonight Show last night and shared a story about vacationing with Dave Grohl in Hawaii (yes, Grohl and Probst take family vacations together) and a prank gone awry. The story begins with the two running into none other than Maroon 5 frontman (and mega Phish fan) Adam Levine while on said vacation, and Grohl striking up a conversation with his fellow brother in rock. When Probst asks the Foo Fighter why he didn’t get Levine’s contact info to keep in touch with him, an idea arises.
The prank went smoothly, initially. Probst set up a fake Adam Levine e-mail account and sent a stalker-ish message to Grohl that freaked out the former Nirvana drummer. It backfired when Probst got an email from a former bandmate (yes, Jeff Probst was in a rock band once upon a time) who happened to be the drummer in Washington rock band Queensrÿche.
The rest of the story plays out with patented middle school humor complete with all of the “Your Mom…” jokes you could ever want. Listen to the explanation below.
