Watch Eddie Vedder Dedicate “Light Years” to Tragically Hip’s Gord Downie

On Saturday night, Canadian rockers Tragically Hip played their final show, following the brain cancer diagnosis of frontman Gord Downie. The show was so massive, it was simulcast throughout the nation and even drew attendees like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
All the way in Chicago, the Tragically Hip love was felt as Eddie Vedder took a moment from Pearl Jam’s massive Wrigley Field gig to pay tribute to Downie and the Hip, dedicating “Light Years” to the band.
Vedder added, “I want to send the energy from our gathering up to their gathering.” Watch the full dedication below.
