Pearl Jam certainly knows how to make the most of a limited time slot as the legendary rockers put on yet another electric show as the headliners at the annual Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s Central Park. The hour-long set was highlighted by this special, unlikely collaboration between Eddie Vedder and Beyonce, who teamed up for a stirring, emotional cover of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song.”  The performance was also augmented by clips of Nelson Mandela while the two traded verses on the tune.

Replay the collaboration below.

The night was capped by Eddie Vedder inviting “anyone who wants to play” on stage for a superjam to the tune of “Rockin’ in the Free World.” The highlight, as you’ll see, is noted science enthusiast Bill Nye jumping around and “fanning” the guitars of Mike McCready and Stone Gossard. Others on stage included Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Kerry Washington, Olivia Wilde, Jason Sudeikis and many others involved in the evening’s festivities.
