The new Death Cab for Cutie made their debut last night on Late Show with David Letterman for their first television appearance since the departure of guitairst and producer Chris Walla. The band, with new members Dave Depper and Zac Rae, assembled to play their new single “Black Sun” from their forthcoming album Kintsugi due out March 31.

The group has two shows under their belt so far, a show in their hometown of Seattle and a recent gig at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Along with older cuts, Death Cab has previewed three new songs from their new album including “Black Sun,” the slick “Ghost of Beverly Drive” and the emotional “No Room in Frame.” Ben Gibbard also announced at the show that the band would be back in New York in the fall to headline Madison Square Garden.
