Dead & Company are stepping into the realm of digital media with the launch of LiveDead.co, offering up each night’s soundboard recording as well as their first webcast, which came the other night as the band celebrated the first night of summer at Saratoga’s Performing Arts Center.

Among the highlights, a sprawling opening combo of “Feel Like a Stranger” and “Here Comes Sunshine” along with extended takes on “Loser” and “Little Red Rooster” in the first set. The second set was anchored by a cover of “Iko Iko,” the famed “China Cat Sunflower” and “I Know You Rider” pairing and a lengthy “Uncle John’s Band,” “The Days Between” and “Good Lovin'” closer. For those who thought the show was over after “Brokedown Palace,” Bob Weir kicked into a cover of “Johnny B. Goode” to excite the crowd on their way out.
