Watch: David Lee Roth Received Fourteen Stitches in Nose After ‘Kimmel’ Performance

Van Halen shut down Hollywood Boulevard earlier this week for their first ever television appearance with David Lee Roth. The lead singer was so excited, in fact, that he busted his nose open as the band walked on stage. Sporting a bandage across his nose that looks more like one of those Breathe Right strips, Roth soldiered on for the brief set that included several of their massive hits.

Yesterday on the show, Kimmel expanded on Roth’s injury, saying that the singer cut himself during the opening jam when he was twirling a mic stand around. “David wanted [the medic] to put duct tape on it,” Kimmel said. After the performance, DLR received an insane fourteen stitches in his nose. “Do you think that’s a good omen for the rest of the tour,” Kimmel closed to cautious laughter.
