Watch: Bela Fleck Joins DMB for Electric Set Finale

When Bela Fleck and Dave Matthews Band get together, magic almost always seems to happen. Earlier this summer, the two teamed up at SPAC over the fourth of July weekend to pay homage to the Grateful Dead with a rendition of “Friend of the Devil” and most recently in Colorado shared the stage for ten songs on the final night of a two-night run in Englewood. The closing segment of that run proved to be the most musically unique as DMB used Fleck on some more unconventional tunes, most notably a “So Much to Say” > “Too Much” pairing as well as a closing “Grey Street.”

While Fleck has been collaborating with the band for virtually their entire career, this weekend marked the first time he’s ever played on “So Much to Say” and just the second “Anyone Seen the Bridge” to go along with the third “Dreaming Tree.” As you’ll see below, regardless of the tune, Fleck and DMB can find a way to lock in for a solid jam almost every time.
