Video: “Sweet Child O’ Mine” Reimagined Through New Orleans Jazz

by Rob Slater on February 24, 2014

Postmodern Jukebox, a group that promises to "take pop music back in time," has posted this video of their take on the Guns N' Roses classic "Sweet Child O' Mine." The iconic rock tune is transformed into a powerful, old-timey New Orleans jazz number with the addition of horns, percussion and an upright bass. Vocalist Miche Braden shatters the Earth with her incredibly powerful vocal performance. Watch, and then go buy the album.

The group recently released a compilation of jazz-infused pop hits with Twist is the New Twerk on iTunes. The album features this version of "Sweet Child O' Mine" as well as jazzy takes on songs like "Royals," "Blurred Lines," "Get Lucky," "Call Me Maybe" and many more.

i can almost make out the gas lamps as im headed out of the bar at the french quarter with the glimmer of light flickering off the street slabs of the charcoal sidewalks after a heavy downpour with that last taste of the hard liquor squeezing out of the last hard swallow from the last call .
