Randy Newman joined Jimmy Fallon on the couch last night as The Tonight Show kicked off its third week, for a brief interview and performance. Teaming up with The Roots, Newman delivered a couple of cuts off of his recent Live in London release in a rare television performance.

For the broadcast, Newman and The Roots delivered a horn-laden version of “I Love L.A.” that thrilled the audience and host. “My Life Is Good” served as a web exclusive posted on the show’s website. Watch the replay of both performances below.

Also, James from The Roots graciously volunteered to be the guinea pig for the Oscars hair style photoshop experiment. As you can see above, he looks good with The Jared Leto. Because James is bald, you see.
