Funk and soul powerhouse The Nth Power draw on their spirited live shows for their next album. The group recorded To Be Free – Live over three nights this past July in Boston, MA and Brooklyn, NY. Seven of the songs on the record, which is set for release on November 11 and is now available for pre-order, represent new material from the quartet.

Today we premiere “Truth” from the forthcoming record, a timely song given the current political strife in the country. The band tells Relix, “In a system that profits off of ignorance and thrives on complacency, ‘Truth’ is a call to action – a reminder to unify and educate ourselves because preserving and strengthening humanity is our greatest responsibility.”

As for the video, the group adds, “When we wrote the song, we felt a sense of urgency to get it out because of the issues people are facing in our country and around the world. This song is an acknowledgement of those issues as well as a battle cry to stand together in the light of truth. We decided to include scrolling lyrics and use a news ticker with current headlines to further illustrate the message.
