Indie-soul foursome Star & Micey recently released their studio debut, Get ‘Em Next Time. Today we premiere their video for “#1” from the record. It features dogs and cats from their local Memphis humane society. The group’s singer and guitarist Nick Redmond, tells Relix, “All of our pets and best friends were rescued from horrible situations. I actually used to foster German Shepards for the longest time. However, we realized, that the theme of redemption for the record could be easily applied to those animals as well. Stephen, the director, mentioned that it would make sense to refer to the animals plea to be somebody’s number one as much as a persons. Often times, their lives are on the line if not adopted. It was a perfect match.” Get ‘Em Next Time  is available via iTunes and Amazon. Star & Micey will celebrate the new album with a hometown show at Memphis’ Shangri-La Records this Friday at 6:30.
