On April 1, Brooklyn’s Marco With Love will release their first full-length record, the follow-up to this summer’s Tidal Wave EP. The aptly-titled Smothered And Covered showcases two sides of the cosmic countrified rockers. The first half (Smothered) will consist of original material, while the second half (Covered) delivers a few of the group’s favorite songs from the 60’s and 70’s.

Today we premiere their official video for “Anything That’s Rock ‘N’ Roll” from the forthcoming record. The band tells Relix, “Our video for ‘Anything That’s Rock ‘N’ Roll’ was inspired by the era when MTV actually played music videos. Not only is it an homage to our hero Tom Petty, but it’s also a nod to Rock ‘N’ Roll High School and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, with a little bit of Revenge of The Nerds added for good measure. It’s meant to make you laugh and we’re reminded to not take ourselves too seriously. The main character Cherry Bomb is a hybrid of Riff Randell meets Joan Jett – a teenage rock ‘n’ roller aspiring to leave the quiet ‘burbs and make her way to the city just in time for the big concert! Marco Argiro flexes his acting muscle with a near Oscar-worthy performance portraying “The Father” in addition to his role as lead singer for the band.”

Marco adds, “When the team and I were reminiscing over some of our favorite music videos from the good ol’ days, we realized that the the intro from Michael Jackson’s music video for ‘Black Or White’ had been borrowed from Twisted Sister’s ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It.’ If the idea was good enough for the King of Pop, then it’s good enough for Marco With Love to revive in 2016.
