Johnzo West recently completed work on a new EP that is set for release in June. Over the years, West (Fortress Social Club,The Swell) has shared the stage with Dickey Betts, Jackie Greene, Ha Ha Tonka, Toots and the Maytals, Easy Star All-Stars and many others. Today we premiere the video for his new song “It Ain’t Right.” West explains, “I was spending a lot of time out in the desert near Joshua Tree when I wrote this song. The desert is sparse, rugged, spectacular and eery all at once, and it’s what inspired me to keep this song as stripped down as possible when I recorded it. We ended up shooting the video near Shaver Lake in the Sierra mountains. The landscape there fit the bittersweet vibe of the song beautifully.”
