Video Premiere: Curse Of Lono “London Rain” (Saturday Night: Chapter 2 of 4)

October 21, 2016

Singer-songwriter Felix Bechtolsheimer formed Curse of Lono last year, following the breakup of his British roots act Hey Negrita. His new group builds on that sound but also incorporates some atmospheric, cinematic elements. The group has just released a new EP and is accompanying it with a special four part film. Today we are premiering part two, which presents their song “London Rain.”

Bechtolsheimer explains “’London Rain’ is the second installment of a series of four videos we made with our film director friend Alex Walker. Alex loved the cinematic quality of the music and wanted to take the whole video concept to another level by making a series of videos that connect to form a single short film. This chapter takes us on a slightly chaotic trip through night time London. As a musician it’s very cool to see how another artist interprets you work. I love the way Alex shoots stuff and can’t wait to work on the next project with him.”

As for the songs itself, he adds, “’London Rain’ is one of the older songs on the EP. We recorded it pretty much in one go in our studio. I wrote it during a strange time when everything was changing. My band of seven years was beginning to break up and other relationships were falling apart. It’s dark but it captured the mood perfectly. It’s definitely one of my favorite songs on the record.”
