Trombone Shorty Visits The _NBA on TNT_ Set

This weekend, the NBA world invades New Orleans for All-Star Weekend. The three-day event that culminates in the All-Star Game on Sunday features all of the NBA’s biggest and brightest stars on the court as well as off. The stars will be out before the game too, as New Orleans’ own Trombone Shorty and Dr. John will perform at the game along with Gary Clark Jr., Earth Wind & Fire and vocalist Janelle Monae.

Last night, Troy Andrews joined the hilarious NBA on TNT crew during their postgame show to talk about the performance and to give Kenny Smith some tips about playing the trombone. As Smith explains, he used to play in school because he was the biggest kid in the class. Smith, a point guard for the Houston Rockets during their championship run in the ’90s, suggested he, Shaq and Chris Webber freestyle with Trombone Shorty to close out the show. The results are amazing, and you can watch the replay below. One can only wonder if Ernie Johnson got his hat back.
