Song Premiere: The Myrrors “Dome House Music”

February 9, 2015

Experimental psych band The Myrrors will release their new album Arena Negra on March 24 via Beyond Beyond is Beyond Records (it is now available for pre-order). Arena Negra features four songs that extend over 42 minutes and build on the Tucson, Ariz.-based group’s desert-influenced sound, offering “psychedelic streams straight out of Aztlán.” Today, we premiere “Dome House Music,” which the band’s Nik Rayne explains, “was taken from a bunch of rehearsal tapes accumulated during the recording of the new record. It’s pretty loose and weird and, to be honest, more than a little sloppy, but we thought it captured an interesting vibe that we really wanted to include on the album. Loosely inspired by the communal Dome sessions hosted by Don Cherry at the Modern Museet in Stockholm back in the early 1970s.” The Myrrors upcoming tour dates which include Levitation, the 2015 incarnation of the Austin Psych Fest, and the Milwaukee Psych Fest appear below.
