Song Premiere: The Devil Makes Three “I Am The Man, Thomas”

August 26, 2016

The Devil Makes Three‘s next studio album isset for release on September 16th via New West Records. Redemption & Ruin is divided into two sides, as the band explores “redemption” and “ruin”  through the songs of such artists as: Muddy Waters, Tampa Red, Townes Van Zandt and Willie Nelson. The trio is joined on the record by a stellar cast of guests, including: Emmylou Harris, Duane Eddy, Tim O’Brien, Jerry Douglas and Darrell Scott. Today we premiere “I Am The Man, Thomas” from the forthcoming album, which is now available for pre-order.

The group’s Pete Bernhard tells Relix, “I Am The Man” is a gruesome tale of the capture and crucifixion of Jesus sung by none other than the late great Ralph Stanley. It may be the most metal Gospel song ever penned by mortal hand. What better song to include on Redemption And Ruin, This tune has it all, the chase the death and the rise from the grave.”
