Song Premiere: Roo Panes “Water Over Fire”

February 23, 2016

Roo Panes’ sophomore full-length, Paperweights, is set for release on March 4 via CRC Music. Paperweights is the follow-up to 2014’s Little Giant, and Panes notes, “Little Giant was about encouragement, about small revelations of great significance, and was a deliberately peaceful album. I wanted to communicate that you don’t need to shout to be heard, and I wanted to bring some hush into a world that so often overlooks the significance of reflection. I guess Paperweights is about freedom, risk, vulnerability, moving on and letting go, lifting the paperweight so to speak.”

Today we premiere “Water Over Fire” from the forthcoming release, which is now available for pre-order.  The singer-songwriter tells Relix, “‘Water Over Fire’ explores the idea of forgiveness, and the power it has to diffuse pain and give fresh starts. It’s about that moment when you get surprised by kindness rather than anger, and on many levels it just feels like water over fire.”
