Polecat will release their new studio album on March 11. This will be a busy time for the Bellingham, WA-based quintet as the group will head out on the road opening a couple weeks of dates for Yonder Mountain String Band before embarking on their own headlining tour. Polecat came together in 2010 and the group, which blends bluegrass, world, reggae, Celtic and rock influences, features  Richard Reeves (double bass), Karl Olson (drums), Cayley Schmid (fiddle), Aaron Guest (vocals and 12-string guitar) and  Jeremy Elliott (electric lead guitar and vocals). Today we premiere “In The Cold” from the forthcoming record, and Guest tells Relix, “The lyrics ponder how we have lost sight of what’s around us, and nature in general, something far bigger than our own emotions and thoughts.” Polecat’s tour itinerary appears below the song.
