Song Premiere: Dead 27s “What A Waste”

July 15, 2016

Charleston, SC’s Dead27s were recently hailed as “skillful and confident musical team with a penchant for old-school funk rhythms and classic rock riffs.” On September 30 they will release their debut full-length album, Ghosts Are Calling Out. The band enlisted Galactic’s Ben Ellman to produce the new record, which is the follow-up to their 2015 Chase Your Devils Down EP. Today we premiere “What A Waste,” the lead track from the forthcoming record, which is now available for pre-order.

Lead vocalist Trey Francis, tells Relix, “‘What a Waste’ is a phrase I’ve heard whenever someone with great potential fails to reach it for whatever reason. We all have our personal demons and we all encounter things that could derail our dreams or ambitions. This song is about facing those obstacles head on no matter how lost or alone you might feel.”

The group will perform in their native South Carolina on Saturday night and will travel to New York’s Brooklyn Bowl to open for Galactic next Saturday, July 23. Dead 27s upcoming dates appear below the stream.
