Song Premiere: Austin Plaine “Houston”
On September 11, Washington Square will release the self-titled debut record from Austin Plaine (you can purchase it here). The Minneapolis-based singer/songwriter has drawn inspiration from Joe Purdy, Bob Dylan, Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith, and Ryan Adams. Today we offer the premiere stream of “Houston” from the forthcoming album. Plaine tells Relix that he wrote the song “down in Nashville while recording the record with producer/songwriter Jordan Schmidt. The whole song was formed out of the two lines ‘losin’ don’t mean nothing when there’s nothin’ to lose, livin’ isn’t livin’ when I’m missing you.'”
