The Redwoods is a San Diego based independent record label that draws together a number of musicians collaborating on a range of projects, modeling itself on the classic era of Stax Records. Today we premiere the Redwoods Sampler which offers a taste of what the label has to offer. Karl Denson guests with Rebecca Jade and the Cold Fact on the opening track, ” Gonna Be Alright.” 

The Redwoods core players include Drummer Jake Najor, who has worked with TV on The Radio, Karl Denson Trio, Kelis and countless others. Alfred Howard from the K23 Orchestra writes lyrics for Birdy Bardot, the Heavy Guilt, the Midnight Pine, Rebecca Jade and the Cold Fact, Dani Bell and the Tarantist and many more. Matt Molarius of Transfer recorded at Live from Abbey Road, and his band has toured with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Brandon Flowers.
