Pearl Jam Respond to Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat

April 3, 2016

After Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade challenged the members of Pearl Jam to some basketball when they’re in town next weekend to play the American Airlines Arena, their first show at the Miami arena. Now, the band has responded to the challenge.

“Are they still a team?,” Jeff Ament quipped as Vedder unwrapped a package with the key to the American Airlines Arena. “So day off, let’s play,” Vedder said. “Maybe they’ll come down and see us play.” The Heat do have an off-day on April 9 when Pearl Jam will be in town following a road game in nearby Orlando on Friday night. Pearl Jam will be playing a back to back after kicking off their tour a bit further north in Ft. Lauderdale on April 8.

We’ll have to wait and see if the two end up meeting on (or off) the court, but in the meantime watch the band’s response.

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. See you on the court, Dwyane Wade & Miami Heat.
