Paul McCartney Praises Dave Grohl, Talks Twerking with Katy Perry in Twitter Q&A

Paul McCartney’s Twitter Q&A’s are always packed full of tiny nuggets of wisdom and humor from one of the world’s biggest rock stars. Take his last one for example, prior to the release of his latest NEW, the Beatles legend revealed that he loves to listen to Kanye West, The Civil Wars and The National. Today, he held a far more extensive Q&A and touched on just about every aspect of his life, from what TV shows he enjoys (Veep has even more cred now) to the songs he sings in the shower (proving there are two kinds of people in the world: those who sing in the shower, and liars).

On the musical front, Macca dished on his buddy Dave Grohl several times, including recommending the Foo Fighters’ new song to a young tweeter as well as including the brain behind Sound City as one of his favorite directors. He also suggested Grohl’s face as the design for someone’s pumpkin. Aside from Grohl, he had even more praise for Kanye and Jay Z as well as Katy Perry’s twerking ability, is still really starstuck by Bob Dylan and dropped a recording with John Bonham.

The biggest hidden gem in the hour-long session, however, was the re-emergence of Rick Rubin to Twitter. Sort of. Rubin asked McCartney about his spirituality, marking his third tweet ever and first in 18 days. Then promptly deleted it. Come back, Rick.

Check out all the highlights below.

Twitter was invented so Paul McCartney could deliver his cheese recommendations.

Someone get Umphrey’s McGee on the phone and let’s arrange a McCartney sit-in on “Waterfalls.”

The first of many Dave Grohl shout-outs, but really, that “Something From Nothing” track is pretty excellent. Listen to it here.

Don’t be starstruck, Paul. After all, Dylan was the guy playing in your tribute concert.

He meant twerking, but tweaking with Katy Perry would also be a certain amount of fun, I imagine.

This is as good of a time as ever to remind you yet again that Macca and Yeezus might possibly be recording something together.

Pumpkin Grohl! (As you would expect, it’s been done).

MORE GROHL.

Rick Rubin sends his third tweet ever and then promptly deletes it, but Paul saw it. Paul sees everything, after all.
